Snoring Sound: It Annoys Snorer and Bed Partner!

Snoring sound differs from person to person and the description ranges from kitten's purring sound to freight of the train. The person who has higher body mass index is prone to snoring and smallest people would create even the sound of a low-flying jet as well.

If the soft tissues on the soft palate are loosened to come into contact with the upper palate, it creates vibrations that produce noise while breathing. The enlargement of uvula can also create snoring. The triangular soft tissues hanging on the upper palate near the back of the throat cause vibration and as a sign of vibrations, snoring occurs.

Sometimes snoring is an indication of obstructive sleep apnea. If the airway is blocked more number of times during night's sleep, the snorer would be partially awaken or wake up from sleep often. It is proved through researches that snoring sound is different from that is sleep apnea.
