Any Effective Sleep Disorder Medicine

There are millions of people out there affected by sleep disorders. The most common treatments are not sleep disorder medicine, but guidelines to enjoy a restful night. Before adopting the drastic drug induced sleep, try to use the following guidelines to achieve a normal restful sleep without the intervention of sleep disorder medicines. Only if everything else fails, should you go for medication or surgical treatment.

The Benefits of Sleep

Do you know how beneficial is sleep for a human being? Sleep can be very much compared to re-charging of batteries. While sleeping, the brain, the heart, the nervous system, and all the other vital organs slow down and rest. When this rest is not provided, the brain becomes dull, the heart heavy, the stomach sluggish and so on. This is why you feel so miserable when you miss your sleep.

There are is another good reason why humans sleep at night - and that is that almost all hormone production takes place at night. Hence, when you do not sleep, you hinder the hormone production triggering a hormonal imbalance in the body that in the long can be disastrous.

Can You Get a Good Night's Rest Without Sleep Disorder Medicines?

There are many ways to regain your healthy sleep cycle without sleep disorder medicine. One of the most effective methods is yoga. Keep in mind, though, that yoga must be learned from a teacher; do not attempt to do any of the positions on your own as it can create more trouble than help if not done right. A torn muscle or a thrown-out back is certainly not going to help you get a good night's sleep on top of insomnia!

Random Sleeping Tip
There is a community of people who feel hungry when they are going to bed at night. They generally eat a very heavy meal before going to bed and that just causes them to suffer from heartburn and this results in a great deal of pain and suffering due to the regurgitation of the food into the esophagus. Therefore people who feel hungry before bedtime then they should eat light snacks such as juice, cookies, and also foods that contain tryptophan that help induces sleep.

If you are not comfortable with yoga, you can do aerobics or any other exercise that consumes energy - you can even have a late evening walk (depending on whether it is safe in your locality to do so). Exercise and exertion help to induce sleep.

Do not drink coffee, tea or cold drinks like cola that contain caffeine for at least two hours before your bedtime. Caffeine will interfere heavily with your sleep pattern and aggravate your insomnia. Alcohol, even though it's a nervous system depressant, should also be avoided as paradoxically, a couple drinks can lead to a sleepless night.

You can also get into the habit of reading before sleeping, which is a wonderful way to drift off for a peaceful rest; alternatively you can use some soft and soothing music with dimmed lights in your bedroom to create a sleep-conducive atmosphere.
