Snoring Sleep Disorder

While we are awake the muscles in our throat and the neck area provide rigidity to our airway keeping to in good shape and providing very less resistance to the air. Breathing in and out regularly maintains this support and makes it easy for us to breathe. But when we are asleep the situation can take a turn for the worse. The neck and throat muscles relax not providing the same rigidity and support and our breathing also calms down further decreasing the support. This might cause our airway to become narrow providing resistance to the flow of air and as a result making the person snore and put all the more effort in breathing. This problem can also be treated by am improper sleeping position or might affect a person suffering from cough and cold.

If your breathing pattern is affected by this process and the air flowing through the airway is considerably reduced it might result in lowering of the oxygen levels in the blood leading to a feeling of dizziness and fatigue in the person. This might also result in total muscle collapse which will block the airway completely and the person might wake up choked and in a state of shock.

Snoring can be a problem not only the one snoring but also the one sleeping alongside. The problem is mainly caused by partially a blocked airway. This causes the air to move with more pressure causing the tissue in our throat to vibrate. A number of factors can contribute to snoring like overweight people tend to snore a lot more than normal people. Consumption of alcohol and smoking which are curses on the society as Snoring Sleeping Disorderit is also contribute to snoring. Sometimes overeating can also result in snoring but it is seldom so because it is not everyday that we overeat.

Snoring can be largely treated at home and the doctor can be avoided in most cases. We can use remedies like changing our posture and sleeping on our side rather than on our back. Snoring occurs due to blocked nasal passages and can be cured but using anything that smoothens the passage and keeps it open like nasal strips etc. If home remedies prove ineffective we can go in for surgery but it should be considered as the last resort.
