Introduction

One of the best things in life is to be blessed with a baby. Becoming a parent by itself is a proud moment and one smile from your baby is worth the while. The baby grows rapidly in the first few weeks of his life. He also learns to adapt himself to life outside his mother’s womb. Most of this activity is triggered by hormones which for some reason are secreted while the baby sleeps. No wonder babies so much. Parents must, therefore, learn everything about Baby Sleep Care.

Why is Sleep so Important for Babies?

In adults the most of the body systems shut down and rest when we go off to sleep. This rejuvenates them for another hectic day once we wake up. In babies, however, this is the time for the brain to collate all the information gathered by the infant’s body from its immediate environment and store it in a proper way in the brain for easy retrieval when required. Sleep time is also required by hormones to send signals for development of the brain and other vital organs. No wonder babies sleep so much. Sometimes even short naps too are required for this activity.

That is why Baby Sleep Care is so important. We must understand that these are traumatic times for the baby as his body systems develop and help him to fight for his survival.

How much Should Babies Sleep?

To begin with Babies Sleep whenever their body signals them to. These periods may be for short durations and the baby may be awake after just fifteen minutes. However, by the time the baby is about four weeks old some Baby Sleep pattern emerge. At this age a baby may sleep for anything from eight to twenty one hours. The baby may get up four to five times at night either because he is hungry or uncomfortable. By the time a baby is eight weeks old, parents may like to train the baby to sleep during the day at intervals that conform to their convenience or schedule of chores. It is also important to ensure that everything possible is done to ensure that the baby has a sound and good uninterrupted sleep.

Random Sleeping Tip
There are a lot of researches going on that link sleep to various illnesses. In one of the research it was found that the individuals who sleep for either less than six hours or more than nine hours are the ones who are the ones with increased incidence of diabetes than the ones who are sleeping to about seven to eight hours. Therefore it is very important that we should not sleep less than six hours and not more than nine hours to prevent the diabetes from occurring.

Baby Sleep Care

Baby Sleep Care is the most important concern of parents. A baby who sleeps properly not only remains cheerful but grows up healthy. A baby must be given a nice warm bath at fixed times and changed into fresh comfortable clothes or wrap ups. Babies need to feed properly before they are put to bed because no baby will sleep on a hungry stomach. An affectionate cuddle, a subtle kiss and perhaps a lullaby helps the baby to go to sleep quickly. Soft music or nursery rhymes in the baby’s bedroom makes the sleeping environment soothing for the baby.

Conclusion
